Zahida:
Do you know your fans refer to you as the BLUE DIAMOND?
Nihira:
Yes
Zahida:
How do you feel being referred to as the BLUE DIAMOND?
Nihira:
Obviously it feels really great that I am being loved so much. My fans
are not only fans, they are my well wishers and supporters.
Zahida:
Who is your favorite singer from today's generation?
Nihira:
Maha Laxmi Iyer and Shankar Mahadeven, I love their voice.
Zahida:
If you had gotten the opportunity to sing the song "Dola Re Dola", would
the song have been a hit?
Nihira:
Shreya has done a fabulous job singing this song, and everyone's got a
different style of singing and I would have sung it a bit differently.
Zahida:
In SRGMP C2007 who was your favorite contestant?
Nihira:
Raja Hasan
Zahida:
In SRGMP C2005 who was the most deserving candidate to win the contest
amongst Himani, Debu, Hemachandra and Vinit?
Nihira:
Hemachandra!
Zahida:
Did you expect to get eliminated in C2005? and were you shocked?
Nihira:
No, I was not shocked. When one participates in a competition, they
should be prepared to loose. I was just enjoying the process of this
competition and I have no negative feelings.
Zahida:
Would you ever consider entering into another singing contest?
Nihira:
No
Zahida:
Why is that?
Nihira:
My priorities right now is - Growth as a person and a singer.
Zahida:
Do you
still do Rihaaz?
Nihira:
Of course
!
Zahida:
Who is your GURU?
Nihira:
Mrs. Vidya Jail and I also have been trained under Anand ji and Kalyan
Ji.
Zahida:
Let's say
if you had come back in SRGMP C2007, who would have wanted to be your
mentor?
Nihira:
In C2005, initially I was not in Ismail ji's gharana but later when I
was in his Gharana, he taught me many musical tips but I also love
Vishal Shekhar's music, so I would pick VS this time.
Zahida:
How did you feel when Ismail ji was praising other gharana's contestants
over you?
Nihira:
I was okay with that, when someone sings good they deserve to be
praised. I would have praised too.
Zahida:
Many people come with the dreams to become a play back singer, in your
opinion is it easy to become a play back singer?
Nihira:
No, it's a
very tough competition.
Zahida:
How did
you feel when your song in Movie Salaam e Ishq was edited out?
Nihira:
As human being I felt sad, but I know it was nothing against me, they
had to shorten the lenght of the movie.
Zahida:
Do you believe that destiny plays big role in your career?
Nihira:
Of course! destiny plays a big role, but I never look back and feel sad.
Life goes on and I enjoy the company of music and I have a very
supportive family who love me a lot.
Zahida:
What are your upcoming projects?
Nihira:
I have two movies that I have been signed for, but it's too premature to
discuss it at this time.
Zahida:
Between
Anwesha and Aishwariya who was your favorite?
Nihira:
I only
watched the finale and I liked voice of Anwesha more.
Zahida:
Finally - You know you have tons and tons of fans out there, would you
like to convey any message to them?
Nihira:
Tell my
fans to love me for being Nihira and send me their blessings.
